PostSubject: I got my sidewinder   Mon Aug 03, 2009 4:23 am

I finally found a sidewinder and brought it home. It is a pro cruiser model. I have been looking for one for a long time. It's former owner was a person with a disability which prevented her from riding it at all. She had an assist motor on it which I removed for her to sell somewhere else. It had never been ridden except for the demo ride showing her how it worked. The tires still had the thin rubber flashing right in the middle of the tread. Zero ride miles.
Now I just have to find out all the little quirks about it. So far with short rides around my area I can say that I really like it.
Does anyone here have any past experiences with sidewinder trikes?

Let us know how you like it.

WE NEED PICTURES!!!!!!!!!

I've never ridden a rear steer trike. I did work at an airport where we had a self propelled power generator that was rear steer. I almost laid that thing over on it's side once.

Congrats on the Sidewinder! I test rode one last year and thought it was very smooth. It didn't really fit me well, though, so I didn't buy it. Sorry I have no other firsthand knowledge to share. Have fun!

Do I understand correctly that you can disconnect the steering to the back wheel, thus allowing the back wheel to caster so you can steer with the brakes?

How does it handle at high speeds, say in excess of 30 mph?

I will admit that this is not a hi speed trike. I have only had it up to 25 and was feeling like I was pushing safety a little. My fat butt isn't a hi speed design anyway.
Its been fun riding it and doing spins in its own length is quite an experience.
I've put a few miles on it now so I can say that I like the feel. It seems solidly built and rides a lot smoother than my ez3sx did.
