www.crazyguyonabike.com has a couple of people who travel with the dogs on their touring trips. Here's the URL for those entries: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/categories/?o=3Tzut&doctype=journal&category_id=275

I take my two dogs - catahoula leopard 55 lbs and a German Shepard 75 pounds for a 'run' each evening. I'm on my recumbent trike and Zedd lopes, Zena trots beside me. They love it.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

I've seen people use trailers to haul their dogs, similar to the kind you can use for kids. You can get a screened enclosure so the dog can see and breathe, but not jump or fall out.

That sounds great, but probably pretty costly.

Actually, I wouldn't be afraid of using kid trailers for smaller dogs. I've seen them used on Craigslist for dirt cheap. Watch yard sales, too. Burley is probably the premier brand to be on the lookout for.

I don't think they make one big enough for the Bull Mastiff, though. But semi-seriously, what about those jogging strollers? Might not one of those be modified easily enough? Or am I spouting nonsense (again)?

Sure they do! http://golittleguy.com/cms/ sunny

Dunno about the jogging strollers. Not even sure I have seen one. Unless you mean those 3-wheeled dealies.

I checked the littleguy website out - they're cute and all, but frankly I don't think I have the legs to pull one behind my bike, especially with a Bull Mastiff in it...

Oh. You meant for behind your bike.... never mind then. *G* How much does that puppy weigh, anyway?

He weighs 130.

There are convertible trailers out there that can go from bike trailer to jogging stroller. They're not cheap though.

I took my dog for a ride this evening on my wife’s trike. I just put on an assist I have problems loading pictures here so I put one on the gallery. Our dog is in this box when we go by car. She liked the bike ride so now the “family” can ride together and my wife will be able to climb hills easily.
I will also use her trike more often you can get good speed without getting sweat! Very Happy

I saw this while on the Catrike rally a couple of months ago. I did not take this photo.
