It arrived a day late. FedEx had managed to mangle the right rear wheel. No repairing it. FedEx wants to pick up the whole bike for inspection. No reasoning with those yahoos.
Jays Pedal Power will cover the cost of a new wheel. Big Poppi's Bikes - http://www.bigpoppibikes.com/ - here in town ordered (The only wheel in the US) and I agreed to pay 60 bucks to overnight it here. SHOULD have been here today. Some asshole in California shipped it UPS GROUND.

Now they are going to build a wheel at the factory in Florida, and ship it express here to get here Tuesday, no shipping cost to me.

What's going to go wrong next?

So... you're getting a wheel UPS ground from California AND a wheel from the factory in Florida? Woo-hoo! instant spare! All ya gotta do is figure out a way to mount it.

UPS should pay for the extra wheel and let you keep it. AND you should complain that the delay has stressed you out and caused a similar delay in your exercise and conditioning program, which could well lead to the onset of many health conditions which would otherwise not occur were you able to pursue your biking activities in a timely manner.

Somewhere, I've got a card for a lawyer, a guy named Shyster Pettifogger. I'll see if I can locate it. I'll bet this is worth at least $2.6 million.

I use Dewe, Cheatem & Howe for all my legal needs.

Unfortunately, I am a white, working stiff. I don't jump all over stuff like this, like a certain "I spilled coffee all over my ignorant self and it's all YOUR fault" woman.

Shit happens. It just irks me that it happened here and now.

I used to be that way. I, too, am just your average middle-class, caucasian who figured I didn't need to get all worked up over something and make life difficult for another middle-class person. After all, I thought, the other middle-class guy is also one of the people, just like me, on whose back the rich and the poor ride.

Then I discovered if you fail to jump all over this stuff, and get your proper due, then EVERYBODY will tend to abuse you the next time: the rich will, the poor will, and even middle-class of every color will.

Of course, we all know everything after the "AND" in my first response was joking around. Everything which came before the "AND" I was serious about: UPS should pay you back for the extra wheel you bought and you should keep it.

If you want, I'll even pen a letter which says what I think you should say, and post it here.

I'm only buying one wheel. And Jay's Pedal Power is footing the bill for it. It's all good.
