Here is my ADC inspired mark2 TE clone. My favourite ride and the first bent I ever built.

This is one of the other three I built for friends. It was yet to be painted when the shot was taken. Dick loves it.

Go find a mate with one. Very Happy

Seriously, Sir J on the Atomiczombie forum builds his bikes in an old bus and several build on back verandas and patios.

John:

Wow, how much welding, brazing, etc., does it usually require when you build these TE clones?

And how much smaller is your pocketbook at the end of one of these projects?

And do you have any specs on weight, wheelbase, overall length, etc., for these bikes?

BluesCat,

If you use all recycled bits and are good at scrounging they don't cost much at all.

The only things I bought was the seat material and some steel tube. Probably spent no more tan $50.

There are a few joints to braze or weld but it can be done with one of those burnsmatic (sp) type torches I believe.

Go have a look at theTec by atom on BROL. Thats a TE clone and I think he built it withg one of those. Its in the homebuilders section . Think its under reverse headtube or similar.

Bluescat - this topic and John's first post (and great Mach 2 bike) center on the available information at www.recycledrecumbent.com

Where this author's aim is to talk you into trying to make a bike! John is one of many who swear to have invested under $100 to creat a great ride. It can happen, pending your ingenuity!

adcarson & John Lewis:

Wow. Of course, the last time I did any serious welding or brazing was ... gee ... sophomore year of high school ... 42 years ago helping my brother-in-law ... wait a minute ...

My nephew is a terrific welder in his own right, and his dad is building horse trailers in his retirement back in his fully outfitted shop.

And the guy who owns and lives on the property right next door to them is a long time friend who does custom auto body and paint in his spare time; paint booth, compressor, guns and everything right there.

Dang! I may have all I need to do this! Sounds like a two six-pack sales job to me! beer chug

I'll keep you all apprised.

ADC, Thanks for the kind comment on my mark2 and for filling in my omission. I had intended to post the recycledrecumbent link.
