What do y'all use as a bag to put some small items in that you can have handy? I'm trying out a Brevet Bag (Top Tube bag) from B&B. I'll post a pic later on today.

Thanks for the help.

There are some really nice frame bags made by Arkel for different Catrike models but I haven't been able to afford a pair yet.

I have a triangular frame bag that I bought from Nashbar. It works well and holds most of my stuff - spare tube, multi-tool, repair kit, latex gloves, lock, etc. It required a bit of modification but fits my trike's frame (Road) quite well. It doesn't fit them all though. This bag won't fit on a Pocket at all.

I also have a larger trunk bag that attaches to my rack, behind the seat. Also from Nashbar, it is expandable and I use it to hold larger things like extra clothes and shoes when I need to carry them with me. I also use it to carry snacks and my Camelbak when I do longer rides.

I really like this. Do you know if they have an insulated pocket of some sort to hold a water bladder? From what I've seen it doesn't appear so. Too bad...

It is unfortunate that they don't have a specific solution to the water transport issue. Asking on the Catrike Forum about water carrying solutions is about like asking "whats your favorite lube?" The answers will be endless and varied. Lots of folks insist that water bottles are the way to go. One friend freezes his half full of water. He lays the bottle down and leaves the lid off. Then he fills the bottle the rest of the way with water and it stays cold twice as long as one full of ice cubes. Other folks use CamelBaks and have all kinds of creative ways to mount them. As noted, I carry mine bungeed to my rack or in my trunk bag. Its cover insulates it pretty well but I also have places I can stop on a regular basis since my rides seldom cover much new ground. Dallas is, unfortunately, not a terribly interesting place to ride. :-)

Thanks. I'm not too fond of the bottle, I have to find other places to mount them than the boom since I want to keep a small "Top Tube" bag up there and the bottle gets in the way. I may try the frame behind me or the FatsBack bladder. We'll have to see which works best. I'll let you know.

Lots of riders put bottle mounts on the frame, just behind the seat. I've also seen someone with bottles mounted on the underneath sides of the seat frame, but I believe they had to punch holes in the seat to mount them there. I'm not a big fan of bottles myself. I can't use the bottle mount on my boom for water because thats where I put the bottle for my AirZound.

Try a Bacchetta bag it comes with an inside zippered pouch and insulated bladder sleeve (holds up to a 70oz. bladder) and I believe it will fit behind the seat of a trike. I've got two and they work pretty well.Bacchetta Bag

You know, I completely forgot about the Bacchetta Bag also. I had ordered the FastBack Hydration Packs from Terracycle and they came in today. I believe I may have solved my hydration problem. I have an older one and with all of the extra straps that they ship with the bags I think I've got them both fixed up. We'll take the trikes out tomorrow and we'll see. I'll post some pic's.

Thanks for all of the suggestions,

Walt

Let me know how well the Fastback works. I might like to get one of those for myself.

Will do, we're fixin' to leave in about 30-45 minutes. Can't go too early since the Irish Pub won't be open on our way back and we really like stopping here.
Good food and great beer!!! A perfect combination.

I also have a tubular Sunlite seat bag on the back (holds both a 20" and a 26" tube, multi-tool, tire tools and a couple copies of the AZ bike laws), to the right of it I have a regular bottle cage with a Starbucks Miller Gentlemen Tumbler (double walled steel, will keep ice in a drink for hours, even when the thermometer is up above 100°) and on the left I have a Bontrager Insulated Cage (not as good as the Miller, but it works pretty well):

Well, the FastBack Hydration packs work GREAT!!! It appears that I'm finished adding things to the Trikes. Well as soon as I get rid of that ugly a$$ seat trunk on the Expedition and get the Arkel Tailrider on there I am.
