Post by vegaspaddy Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:59 am

Well i have my conversion bike sitting in the garage a trek y26 which i was able to purchase on ebay. I am hoping that maybe in the next few months i can find a second hand kit on one of the boards, if not i will just have to buy new at the end of summer. I would appreciate it if anyone comes across a kit to give me a heads up.

Many thanks VP. clover

If no one buys my complete bike by April 19th, I'll be selling the kit separately. I'll let you know.

Racer has one, but he wants to sell the whole bike. Ahh! I see he already responded!

Bill, You sold my Cruzbike! Hope you turned a profit. Very Happy At least you got to keep the Huffy. That should bring a couple of $ from a scrap yard.

Yes I did sell it and I turned a real good profit, I gained another friend in many ways. The saga goes, I was about ready to change out the wheels to put a smaller foot print on the ground and an offer was made over the web site. When the smoke does clear from all this wheeling and dealing with conversion kits, I will have been on the up-grade path towards a Silvio, the final goal. I almost have enough green in the pocket to make a run over to Floral City. There they have a conversion installed on a mongoose and a Sofrider V2. The Sofrider has a price tag a bit below 1100 and the conversion a bit below 500. From what I have been told, I could swap out the front gearing very easy and create a Free-Sofrider but that would put the price tag almost the same as the one in Floral City. (Confused yet?) I could do the same swapping with the mongoose conversion and be a bit ahead with the green stuff. All in all, this is an adventure and so far I am still ahead money wise, just a little wear and tear on my old truck. Missed out on the Assault last weekend but in the missing I gained a relationship with a group of riders out of Orlando that helped me find a pathway from east to west on a trail that I did not know existed. So, Pete, our bike has traveled a good deal of miles not attached to a frame. But soon it will be used ....... until it goes down to the next person. thumbs up

Bill, Slightly off topic, which trail are you talking about?

Pete, West Orange Trails, goes from the East side of Orlando, north of where you are located, over to Lake Louisa State Park. I have you email address somewhere and I will send you the google earth information. thumbs up
