A Trike? For Me? Aww, how sweet!
First of all, I can hardly believe it's been over a year since I've been on this Forum. Shame on me. Second, the pennies have been all saved up and it's time to get my trike, probably either a Catrike Road or a Speed. My LBS has both of them in stock, and the owner says since the Speed is not this year's model he is willing to cut me a deal on it. I pulled up the specs on both of them from the Catrike website and they look pretty evenly matched. So far, this South Carolina winter has been on the mild side, so I may get some decent ride time in before my next big event - the Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure in May. (I've signed up to ride the Metric Century in that one). I promise to keep y'all posted on the trike deal, and will absolutely post pics when the purchase is finally made.

I wonder if any of you know of some good looking gals who are interested in a hot looking, 61-year-old gigolo they'd like to drop a few dimes on?

Naw, some of the neighborhoods I ride through ... I'd probably get attention from the WRONG types of people.
Think Cougars, NOT QUEENS!

I'd vote for the Road. I'm going to be picking one up on Jan 27th myself. I really like the 3 wheels being the same size and the road will hold racks and panniers and with the 20" rear wheel be geared low enough to climb anything around. It has the same recline as my Expedition too!
Whatever you decide.....PIC's PIC's and some more PIC's!!!!
When I pick up my road I'll post a ton of them too both here and on Flickr.

(chuckle) Yeah, with MY luck, the only gal who'd notice me would be the one in uniform, with the badge and the gun. Real tough explaining THAT one to Mrs. Cat!

Re: A Trike? For Me? Aww, how sweet!
Having just bought a trike late last year, I can see why they are popular. I had planned on buying a trike this spriing, but Im glad I got it when I did since the price has already increased $100. For the time being I will be spliting time on the Cruiser with my wife. Since Im 73 I spoz there will come a time that I will have to give up my Stratus and ride the trike full time. Im hoping that wont come for at least another dozen years.
BTW rydabyk I got the 26" upgrade Kit for my Cruiser. I like the idea of the RD and chain being higher up out of the dirt and trash. The RD should be a little safer from hitting things being higher. Of course I do have to carry a couple different sizes of tubes, but no big deal as I alway have a trunk pack on my bikes. As a technician all my life that trunk pack makes me a rolling bike repair shop. Friends like to have me along for the repair possibilities.
