I had a ride on Sunday 75 km on my Sofrider the longest trip with that recumbent this year.
A new highway was open recently and now it was possible to cycle on the old main road going east.
25 km of this trip was on the old main road there is still some traffic but not much compared to before.
The weather had been good all week but when I started to ride it rained and stopped when I had 20 km left and on the last hill before home the sun started to shine.
I could have started later but then I had something else scheduled.
I used rain cloths it was light rain I also sweated but wasn’t cold.
The first 40 km were just moderate hills then I had to climb the steepest and longest hill in this area.
The speed was slow up that hill but I knew when I got to the top most of the rest of the ride would be down hill. Very Happy
I rode alone and didn’t go fast there were many beautiful places to look at even if it rained.

I did see a dead Moose in the ditch found out today that it had been removed.
I commute on my Sofrider and it has functioned well it’s very quiet so on a long ride you don’t have to listen to the sound of idlers.

You topped me, Peder - no matter how many times I will commute to work through the South Carolina countryside, I do not expect ever to see a moose, alive or dead. Very Happy

Some farmers have Turkeys and Ostriches but I didn’t see any yesterday. I did see some cows and sheep.
The moose was hit by a car and left in the ditch.
No vultures here that I know about they are good renovators.
The smell of a big animal after some time isn’t good.

Peder - by my hasty and crude calculations, 85 km is about 51 miles - quite a respectable ride! thumbs up

Here are some pictures from a local club they took the same route that I rode a couple of times only faster. There are two cycle clubs in Grimstad FOCC is 3 years old and has never won any prize before today. They just got a new member the man on the first picture he was nr. 3

I wasn’t home this Sunday.

If you look at the last picture you can see this same cyclist with someone some of you might recognize.
