One of our favorite weekend getaways is The Tammany Trace http://www.tammanytrace.org/ in Louisiana. It's a 31 mile Rail Trail that cuts right through Fountainbleu State Park in Mandeville, Louisiana http://www.crt.state.la.us/Parks/ifontaine.aspx and is located along the banks of Lake Pontchartrain (across from New Orleans). Some great pictures of the Trace can be found here http://www.traillink.com/ViewTrail.aspx?AcctID=6015938

I rode the Tammany Trace a year ago. The bridge was out when I was there so I got to ride was 21 miles. But the ride was very, very nice. Great fun.....

That looks incredible. Fountainbleu is one of our favorite parks but we haven't been there in several years. It may be time to consider a Louisiana vacation. It would be great to do that with the trikes.

Ah yes...the Sugar Mill ruins, Lake Ponchatrain and cold beer by the campfire, life there is very good indeed.
