Howdy all. Just got my first bent 3 weeks ago; a Bacchetta Strada. I have been enjoying the bike immensely. I am based in Huntington Beach and I am always up for a ride!

Good morning Sleepy. Welcome to the forum. Huntington Beach is a little far for me to go to for a ride but we do have some members out your way.

Welcome to the forum. Since you and so many on this forum are from Florida I have a question.
This doesn’t have anything to do with cycling but I talked with someone here in my town that bought a house a couple of years ago in Florida and stays there during the winter.
When he bought the house he wasn’t aware of the high taxes he had to pay each year. Is Florida the most expensive state to live in the USA? I lived in Chicago as a child moved to Norway in 1970 I suppose the taxes were lower than. Is there a big difference of what you have to pay in tax for your house in the different states today?

Florida's property taxes are a little higher than some other places but we have no state income tax. This is the only state in which I've owned a home so I can't speak from experience but I think that property taxes in New York & California are higher along with higher sales tax and an income tax.

Welcome, Sleepy.

I don't know how to describe the tax situation in Arizona. We have a state income tax, a state sales tax on everything but food and a property tax which is tied to the fictional home values of two or three years ago. drunken

It’s me that started the tax debate we have to pay property tax but it seems to be less then they pay in Florida. We have sales tax 25% on a everything also food expect a few food products that have I think 13%. We have extra tax on certain products like cigarettes, alcohol and cars. Cars here cost about 3 times as much here as in the USA. We also have income tax for an average salary that would be about 30% higher if you earn more.
