Just found this site although I see it has been around a while.........
Name is Floyd, 50+7 and still enjoying life...especially on my RANS Stratus (which presently is out of use cause of broken seat strut), Lightning P-38 which I am trying to sell at the local bike shop, Linear which is old enough to have over seat steering, and a homebuilt SWB clone,,,among others. I have been messing with bikes since looooong time ago. First homebuilt about 40 years ago when I saw the "Groundhugger' in Popular Mechanics Magazine. nuff for now, more later in the different sections.

Dang, Bill, you take ALL the fun out of screaming "NEW MEAT!"

Oh yeah: Welcome, Floyd. (Ignore all those warnings, we're all pussycats.)

Ahhhhhhh, Kansas!

Question, Floyd: When I put up the first pictures for My Phoenix Commute, I received a lot of comments about how flat my ride to work is. And it IS very flat.

But Kansas is rumored to be very, VERY flat, is that true?

It has been scientifically proven that Kansas is flatter than a pancake...don't know if that stufff is still on the internet, i have not looked recently.
To answer your question, Yess there are some places that are very flat and you can ride for miles (in heat or cold, ambient temp depending on season) without changing gears...then there are other places where you can get some decent hills.
I prefer the flat for "enjoyable" riding.
