Hi everyone: I live in Central Point Oregon and I am retired. I have done a lot of touring, from home in Oregon to Nebraska two times, form home in Oregon to Winter Park Florida where I used to live. Also a lot of shorties. I ride between 200 and 300+ a week. I also make a recumbent and trike work stand that Hostel Shoppe and some other shops are selling. I have a web site, www.recumbentandtrikeworkstand.com Still like to tour and hope to tpur again this next summer from here to Florida again.

Welcome to the forum you have a nice practical work stand. You also have many miles on recumbents so you have much experience and knowledge. I saw from your homepage that you have had different recumbents. You had a VK2 wasn’t that a fast recumbent? Do you have more than one recumbent now? Peder

Welcome, Jarhead047! With all of your miles in the saddle, you have probably seen and ridden a number of recumbents traveling out on the road. In your opinion, what has been the most efficient bent for touring? _________________ BluesCat -----> 2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*)

For all my touring I used a vision R40 and never had any trouble with it and I pulled a bob trailer. I also did a tour from Oregon to So. Calif. and use my Links Opuim and pulled the bob, I did not like touring with the Links. I also did a short tour here in Oregon with a wiz trike pulling a Berley trailer and really didn't like the trike either. My next tour will be with a Bacchetta GiroTT20 and pull a berley trailer. The VK2, I sold it and it was a very fast bike. I can't go the speed that I like to go now because of my breathing so I sold the VK2. Now I just do what I can do and I still get the miles in but not quick now.

I totally understand the not quick. I'm not quick by my own design. That's the great thing about touring. It's good to be not quick! In fact most newbie touring cyclists have to be reminded to be not quick. Walt
