PostSubject: Greetings Earthlings!   Mon Jun 22, 2009 10:00 pm

I tried to post an intro the other day but the internet, trying to act like my dog, ate it.

My name's George, and I've been riding a EZ3 USX for the past few years. Currently saving up for a Catrike Trail and training up to do at least one, if not both of the 30 mile rides in the Bike MS ride in Ventura, CA coming up in October.

The USX went into the shop for some issues last Saturday and I had to ride my GT Karakoram this weekend. I quickly remembered why I didn't ride it that much any more (and I used to commute on it when there weren't a couple mountain ranges between me and work). Guess I'm bent for life.

Welcome to the forum!

You're in the Ventura area, then? Some of us are kinda-sorta talking about going up there to ride this summer.

I'm in the San Fernando Valley (Tarzana), just about 4 miles away from Bent-Up Cycles in Van Nuys. I got my USX from Dana when he was still operating out of his garage in North Hollywood.

The USX doesn't fit that well in my car, so I'm pretty much riding locally until I can get the Catrike Trail, at which point, all bets are off.

I'm sorta glad I don't live that close to Dana. I could see me spending waaaaay too much money in there. See this thread.

Believe me, the only thing that's keeping me from giving Dana more money is a) not having room for more than a single trike and a single bike and b) not having any conveniently disposable cash. I'll be getting rid of my USX to make room for a Catrike Trail. Then I'm hoping to convince my wife that she'll be happier with a Pocket than with the Nashbar MTB she currently owns. But that's a ways in the future. It's going to take a concerted effort to get together the cash for the Trail.

I'm hoping to have the Trail in time for the August S.C.A.R.S. ride. In which case, I may drive down and join you folks.

Welcome, GVDub.

Yeah, that's why we all should have at least one DF: so we can hop on it every once in a while and go back home and kiss our recumbents...

Uh ... did that sound right? scratch
