Yes, I've been riding recumbents since 1994, when I purchased a S&B HD.

Highlights:

1. Dropped over 100lbs in 1996 by riding 8000 miles a year, mainly to/from work on a 33mi RT commute that included Torry Pines Park in San Diego.

2. Former bike reviewer for RCN.

3. Used to run the San Diego Recumbent Riders, the Mission Bay ride.

4. Building coroplast tailbxes since 1994.

5. Designed and built my own SWB bike in 1998 which had the distinction of being easily ridden no-hands (around corners, slow or fast):

6. Raced the ZOX26 with the SDBC Fiesta Isle TT series, pulling a 31:05 20km in 1999.

7. Currently riding a Bacchetta Strada which I love.

1996-1999 ... mainly commuting ... big hills both ways. Hence the 31:05 20km in 1999.

I don't have the time for this now. Work out of the home. Maybe 50 miles a week.

Thanks, bikingbill, now I don't feel so bad!

50 miles a week is about what I'm at now, too.
