PostSubject: derailer adjustment   Tue May 26, 2009 5:53 pm

I just ordered and new Sram x7 derailer for my Rans Stratus. I have a question about the adjustment screw that adjusts the clearance of the upper sprocket. Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust this. Im basically asking what has been your expierence, and why you adjust it the way you do.

There are a few good youtube movies that talk you through the process. Check them out...

Walt,
The one you sent to Richard is the one I was referring to. We all must be full of intelligence.

Look at Park Tools. They have instructions.

Thank you all. It amazing what you can find video on with U tube. I had to go to several sites to find anything on the "B" screw adjustment tho. Most of them only wanted to talk endlessly about the hi and low screws.

After looking at Scram sites I finally found a definate measurement on one of their sites.
For anyone that may want to know the recommended clearance is 6mm between the large freewheel and the upper derailer sprocket. I assume this is only for Scram, but might work on other brands.
