Oh yeah..... I don't care what all the buzz is on BROL...... WD-40 is NOT coming ANYWHERE NEAR my bicycles! I suckered in on the Dumode Tech thing.... Not again! think it's almost humorous how many of the Dumonde people have now jumped in on the WD-40 bandwagon! Flavor of the month, I guess!

AMEN to that one brother, I did try it...mistake, may as well ride with a dry chain. No Dumode for me either.

I haven't been to BROL for a while, went there last week and the first post I read was someone bitc*@!# about someone's answer to his post. I'm pretty much done there, I may just visit every now and then. Definately no more donations though.

Yeah, it's definitely bad, or otherwise attitude until otherwise checked, depending on your affiliation.

I tried BreakFree CLP a couple weeks ago. It seems to work well as a chainlube, but it's no cleaner than White Lightning. It looks like my chain is going to collect black icky stuff no matter what.

I think it's the price we pay for living in the Sonoran Desert, garrybuck.

My understanding is that WD40 is not a lubricant, it's essentially kerosene.

What's nasty about Tri-Flow? I'm not being argumentative here, I just don't know what you mean. Is it gummy, dirty, smelly....?

It just gets dirty fast. Collects dirt. Probably my fault for not being religious enough in wiping down my chain. Certainly Tri-Flow is probably the most frugal chain lube.

Yeah, true. I, too, use Tri-Flow and it does tend to get dirty fast. Of course, like I said to garrybuck, dirt and grit in the Arizona desert is kinda like a "Duh!" fact of life. I have surreptitiously looked at some other's bicycle chains around here and have yet to see one cleaner than mine.

Gotta keep 'em clean and lubed, and Tri-Flow is cheap enough to spread on liberally afterwards!
