He's pretty tall as Johnsons go, but, no, he ain't no basketball player. His trick also ain't in Track and Field --- no pole vaulting --- but, like basketball, it IS an indoor sport. _________________ BluesCat -----> 2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*) |

| Wow, the level has lowered considerably since the OP! Back to the original programming: I use Champion "wicking, performance" T shirts from Target when on sale, $6. For the lower portion I use cotton undershorts for reasons stated above and cotton "cargo" shorts from Pennys so I can use the front and side pockets without adding lumps for me to lay upon! For cooler weather (we do get some here) I found the unpadded bike tights work well and because they don't have the diaper built in, they tend to be much cheaper! And, since I am wearing them on cooler days there are not very many people out there to bring up the level of laughter. _________________ .......................jim

| The last few days I've been wearing relaxed fit Wrangler jeans for both my morning and evening rides. That's 'cause its been really nippy at around 69° F. Next week its supposed to reach the 90s once again so I'll have to go back to my cargo shorts. _________________ BluesCat -----> 2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*) |

(snicker ) Yeah, I kinda figured all you folks that live in places where the water freezes would get a kick out of how wimpy us desert rats are. 'Course, during the summer the shoe is on the other foot!*
* That's an SPD shoe, BTW  _________________ BluesCat ----->  2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*) |

| It was 55 when I left the house this morning. Not even worth arm and leg warmers. Barely, though; there were a couple places where the temp dropped a couple degrees and I was chilly. I don't mind the cold near as much as I dread the Santa Ana winds. Mark _________________ Bicycling is my drug of choice. Followed closely by beer.

| Argh! Yeah, in Phoenix we just get the tail end of the Santa Anas. I can't imagine being on the FRONT end of 'em. The worst winds we get are those coming out of the south during the so-called "monsoon" season from late summer into early fall. Haven't gotten serious monsoons in the past few years as a result of the long drought, but when they come they carry a lot of dust and severe gusts where there is no wind one second and a 40 mph gust the next; it'll blow you right down, even if you are riding a recumbent. _________________ BluesCat -----> 2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*) |

| I don't think I'd care much for the Santa Ana winds either. It seems like it's always windy here in Florida being so flat but only a somewhat constant 10-15 mph with occasionally higher gusts. How high do the Santa Ana's get? Walt |

| 25-30 MPH at times. They always talk about them approaching hurricane velocities. In certain areas, where the wind gets channeled, like putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose, it's pretty common to see trucks rolled over on the freeway. Not fun and they usually come out of the north, which is great when you're riding south, but suck when you head in any other direction. Mark _________________ Bicycling is my drug of choice.
