No stationary object to lock your bike to!

If you ever get that concerned you can always attatch it to your tent poles. I've done that while touring. I have to admit though, I've never had a problem, knock on wood....

If you want hills, serious hills, come on down to Clermont.

I found some of those during the Sunshine Recumbent Rally last fall Twisted Evil I must admit I don't really go looking for them when riding bent. Of course I'm never in much of a hurry so I just spin, spin, spin Mad

Heck, it was 84 degrees today, a perfect day for riding so I went out to the Blackwater Trail today with my wife. It was her first day on her new Surly LHT. Says she likes it, looks like a good fit to me.

The trail was empty and so were the roads just past the trail.

I had to share the road with some locals. Did I tell you I live in "rural" Florida?

You know you're down south when one of the main crops is....COTTON

As far as you can see....Cotton

The other crops I didn't get a picture of were Peanuts and Onions. Peanuts, Cotton and Onions, this place is loaded with them. It sure does smell different when you're riding around here this time of year. I think it's the best time of year in the Northwest Florida Panhandle.

Looks like you have a beautiful area to ride in. Is this also the time of the year with the best temperatures for riding? The summer might be too hot is the winter too cold for a comfortable ride?

Peder,

Spring and fall are both wonderful times of the year. I for one don't mind summer at all, yea, it gets a bit on the warm side and it's a little humid but it's not all that bad, then again, maybe I'm just used to it. I HATE winter, it never really gets too cold to ride but it's not at all that comfortable in January and for a week or two in February. Usually gets up into the low 60's by midafternoon so if you wait out the mornings it's not bad at all. My work commute tends to suffer a bit though. The only thing that saves it is that the wind is usually not blowing too bad at 0500 when I leave or at 1900 when I'm ready to come home.
