I took my Jandd Mountain Handle Pack I off The Roadley and tried it on my EZ Sport Bluetiful. Works great so I found another one on sale for 30% off at a bike shop downtown:

(Guess I should have dusted it off before I took the picture, eh?)

The two top straps are wrapped around the ape hangers between the two mounting bolts for the bottle cages on either side, and the bottom strap has just enough length to connect around the stem head and leave a little space between the bottom ...

Sram derailers

My 2008 Rans Stratus came with Sram X3 derailer. While it worked flawless, when getting the bike ready to ride this year, I found that the pulleys on the derailer couldnt be cleaned and serviced since they are rivited in. Today I received the new Sram X7 from Hostel Shop. After installing the X7 and adjusting it. I rode about 30 miles. It too shifted flawlessly. Untill I had got my Tailwind in 2005 and the Stratus last year I had never heard of Sram. Now I dont think I would buy anything ...

Kucharik Recumbent Clothing

I know that many of you avoid regular cycling wear and while I respect that position, I happen to be one that prefers it.

Every year at the Redlands Classic, Kucharik clothing has a booth. I remember during my brief trip back to the dark side (DF bikes), they had recumbent jerseys in their booth. Since going back to recumbents, I have asked every year and they always offered some excuse or other why they didn't bring recumbent stuff. This year was different; they finally brought some ...

Last Sunday, I picked up a pair of Shimano SH-M076 Sport Mountain Bike Shoes and looked at clipless pedals at my LBS. They had had a busy Saturday and their supply of pedals was severely depleted, but they said they would be getting in some more towards the end of the week.

Today, I stopped back by there on my way home and their stock of pedals had been refreshed. I saw a pair of Shimano PD-A530 SPD Pedals and liked the idea of a platform on one side and the SPD clipless on the other. ...

Bebop Pedals

As some of you may have read in my other posts, I have been trying to use clipless pedals with minimal success. At least the SPD type, were driving me crazy. I was having problems clipping in then they wouldn’t release and I would fall over. I tried adjusting the tension and modifying the shoe to make it easier to get in and out, to no avail.

Someone on another board suggested I try Bebop pedals. These things are much better than the SPD type pedals I had been using. They are easy ...

When I first started riding recumbents, I developed sharp knee pain. After doing some research, I learned that this is a common problem with recumbents. One solution for a lot of people is pedals with 'float', i.e. your feet can pivot, they're not locked in one position.

Speedplay Frogs were the solution for me, they have a large amount of float, and my knee pain stopped immediately. Another thing I like about them is that there's no big honking lump under my foot that makes it difficult ...

Schwalbe Kojaks

Well it seems like Schwalbe has stopped making there Stelvios in the 16 x 1 1/8 349 what a bummer. So instead of the Stelvios we put a set of Schwalbe Kojacks 16 x 1 1/4 349 on the Catrike Speed. They look pretty good and they are slicks and hold 115lbs pressure. They come highly recommended by the Local Recumbent Shop. Time will tell after some use and so will I, Stay tuned for the next report.

The Greenspeed Glyde

A new era for Greenspeed

Some of founder and CEO Ian Sims' earliest (and now longstanding) thoughts have always revolved around creating products that would give people a viable alternative in personal transport. The many products that Greenspeed have since brought into fruition over the years have been envisioned to not just compete with the car (and fossil fuel) market but also to benefit the health of the planet and people's individual health. Much of this was happening, of course, long ...
