I can get on and ride almost in a straight line. But, I am not riding in a straight line for a long period of time or at least long enough for me to adventure out among the cars to commute to school. The question: If I change the "rake" of the front end farther out in front of me, I think it is called negative drag, then I am to experience "wheel flop". It seems to me that this adjustment would lessen the amount of wandering on the pathway but only be negative in causing ...

Just returned home, took care of honey-doozes (I know it isn't, dues.) taking the lawn mower back to the other house and maybe I will be able to ride before sundown. It has been a long day. Floral City and back, but I think worth it. Mongoose Switchback Conversion. The "Heavy Huffy" from Pete was a steel beast, the Mongoose is aluminum setup with 700c x 23s. It is light as a feather, if you don't weight the conversion end. This evening I will be changing out the air-filled tires ...

It's been hard to use these on the Silvio because road bars, even our beloved Origin 8 Gary's, put the shifters in an awkward position. Using Paul's Thumbie adapters put the cables in an unfortunate position.

So I cut and cobbled some stuff and came up with this:

It uses a set of Bacchetta tweener bars that I cut off at the bend ...

Hello All,

Jim gave me a chance to do some development work on a Sofrider V2 that was returned to us. I'm putting it together for Maria, Jim and his brother to evaluate. The ideas may pop up retail sometime, you never know!

The research is around the brakes and drivertrain. I converted the brakes front and rear to 160mm Avid BB5 discs. I made an adapter for the caliper to fit on the rear swingarm using the two accessory holes in the dropout.

The drivetrain research ...

I installed the chain and cluster derailleur cable today.

The chain is 1 link short. No real problem for now, it just means that I can’t cross chain big ring to largest cluster gear. You’re not supposed to do that any way.

I’m having a little problem adjusting the cluster derailleur. I can get it to go from gears 1-5 or 2-6 but not 1-6. I had this same problem with the old derailleur in the original configuration so I bought a new 7 speed derailleur but never installed it ...

I guess they got all twitterpated when he told them he rode with a guy that had a Silvio. Good to know they have them in some shops. I forgot to ask what shop he was in.
