They are simple, elegant, direct, light, and have a wonderful "snick-snick" action when you shift them. It's been hard to use these on the Silvio because road bars, even our beloved Origin 8 Gary's, put the shifters in an awkward position. Using Paul's Thumbie adapters put the cables in an unfortunate position. So I cut and cobbled some stuff and came up with this: It uses a set of Bacchetta tweener bars that I cut off at the bend ... I converted the brakes front and rear to 160mm Avid BB5 discs. I made an adapter for the caliper to fit on the rear swingarm using the two accessory holes in the dropout. The drivetrain research ... The chain is 1 link short. No real problem for now, it just means that I can’t cross chain big ring to largest cluster gear. You’re not supposed to do that any way. I’m having a little problem adjusting the cluster derailleur. I can get it to go from gears 1-5 or 2-6 but not 1-6. I had this same problem with the old derailleur in the original configuration so I bought a new 7 speed derailleur but never installed it ...
