Hi everyone,

I am a retired senior citizen and have been cycling since I was a teenager. I started riding bents about 13 years ago after the cycling club I belonged to in Atlanta, invited some bent owners to bring their bikes down so that we could learn about them. I bought a BikeE a couple of months later, and then a Rans Tailwind which I still have and love riding. I live in Atlanta, and have a park next to my home with a 1 1/2 mile hilly loop, and I am about 22 miles fro the Silver ...

Been kinda busy around here, and down in Tucson, this weekend.

I want to introduce to the forum a person who is VERY new to bicycling ... and everything else for that matter.

This is Keira:

I have already apologized to my son: I guess World Class Good Looks must skip a generation because little Keira obviously takes her stunning attractiveness from her Mom and her Grandpa BluesCat.

Here's another picture with an important statistic:

2. Former bike reviewer for RCN.

I have never attempted to ride one before, but in cardiac rehab I used a stationary one and really liked it. I decided to retire, move and change jobs for awhile and started to ride back and forth to work. Love the pace of the small community here.
Howdy to all the intelligent cyclist.

My name is Richard, from Lincoln Ne. I have been riding recumbents since I bought a Rans Tailwind in 2005. I had kind of interested in recumbents for quite a while. They looked really logical. My LBS had a 2004 leftover Tailwind that I bought in 2005. Since my sons and I had bought several bikes over the years Chris at Cycle Works gave be a really good deal. I of course gave him a real sad song about being an old guy (im now 70) and anything ...

My biking was very limited until I moved to Madison, WI in 1998. I started riding an upright bike to work and on the first day hurt myself on the seat at a stop light. Soon after that I bought a Rans Wave in 1999 and built a fairing for it which allowed me to ride in much colder weather. After my employer moved to another part of town, my route included much steeper hills and I was all over the road because of the slow speed. In 2001 I tried out a Rans Rocket on the hills and found it to ...

I currently own three recumbents: a Bacchetta Aero, a Burley Hepcat and an ActionBent Roadrunner. I plan to sell the roadrunner though as I never use it. I primarily ride the aero. I really love my aero, but I have been thinking about buying a P-38. I like the concept of the voyager. Also, the feet are in a lower position for the P-38. I frequently have to let my feet hang down for short periods of time on long rides with the aero to get blood flow to feet.

I know, I'm not really Southern, but it's as close as I'll likely get. Hi!

I think my interest in bents started around 1990 when I saw a long, low, fully faired, obviously pedalled vehicle exit a car dealership. Don't know to this day exactly what it was, but years later I accidently found a Windcheetah (that set a speed record back in the 80's) when doing a search - and I became even more interested, and began searching on the name. Bought my first bent as a frameset, without a testride ...

I am new to this forum and must say it seems to be a very refreshing change from some of the others. I am a guy who loves to ride bicycles of all types and I also love recumbent Trikes. I ride a Catrike 700 along with other DF bicycles and live in the Orlando Florida area.
Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

I have had my Catrike Pocket for about six months now and have been riding with a group of others that includes a lot of trikes and also many who are thinking of getting Recumbents. I have bad legs and cannot ride a regular bike, or even walk a lot, but I can get out on the Trike for 15-20 miles without the effort it would take to walk a few blocks.

Hi,

Dutch Johnson, 60, male, 6'2", 225, power walker and infrequent (1999 R300 Canondale) cyclist. Used to do full marathons at a shuffle, but two level spinal fusion a year ago slowed that activity quite a bit. I am really a poor biker. Doing some sprint-tri's a few years ago, my average for 12 miles on flat ground was a best of 16mph. Can't climb any of the "mountains" in Lake County to save my life and have never ridden more than 50 miles on an upright. I do belong to the ...
