The reindeer has distress in the lower tract from moldy hay and were fouling the foot path. Mrs Clause had PMS. Santa had a tooth ache. and to make matters worse the elves were about to go on strike.---------Then the door bell rang and Santa aske one of the elves to answer the door.

With the new Garmin eTrex mount on my EZ Sport, I decided to head out on Sunday morning, 11/08/09, and explore new routes to work. I wanted to see if I could find more sedate, local neighborhood streets to ride on. In the process, I had two revelations:

1. GPS units are cool, and not just the toys I have always considered them to be.

2. I've always thought that streets with marked bike lanes were safer than streets simply designated as bike routes with signs but no paint to show the bike ...

Hello fellow trikers, I own a Catrike Trail. Bought in July '09 CTT#846, silver with a Windwrap fairing. The fairing is keeping my feet dry and minimizing the headwinds. Any other Canadian trikers out there, I'm in B.C. Vancouver area. The traffic out here can get pretty heavy at times and the use of a flag on a trike is essential. I don't see many recumbents where I ride, so the Trail is a very different vehicle on the road, and the drivers always give me a wide berth. I have always had a flag ...

Hey guys,

Just checking in after my tour. It's been a week since I've been back but I'm still mentally and emotionally on the road. I meant to send this link before, but spaced it with all I had to do to get ready.

It's a work in progress, but one of these days I'll get it up to speed, hopefully before I do the next one (but maybe not since the next one is potentially in December!).

My question about trikes is wouldnt it be better to have a large rear wheel. I guess this applies to tadpole trikes. I had a Rans Tailwind bent. It had a 20 inch rear wheel. I always worried about how low to the ground the derailer hung. It always seemed to me that it would be in danger of damage from curbs etc. Also it put the rerailer and chain further down in the dirt. A 26" or a 700C would place the chain and derailer higher.

59 year old Ademir Jorge Goncalves came to his own funeral in Parana in Brazil walking still alive.

He told everyone they aren’t going to get rid of him so easily.

Here is the story in Norwegian http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utrolige-historier/artikkel.php?artid=582767

I found the story in Portuguese http://oglobo.globo.com/cidades/mat/2009/11/03/parana-morto-que-apareceu-vivo-em-velorio-passou-noite-bebendo-com-amigos-914581128.asp

I also found the story in English. http://guanabee.com/2009/11/ademir-jorge-goncalves-brazilian-own-funeral/

The Kwests are great for road riding, but when it comes to climbing up a roll curb, or coming up over the slightest lip of a driveway opening, the 100 psi Kwests seem to have a tendency to slide along and not grip and get the wheels up and over.

What do you think these should be great for commuters the drivers might notice you?

Maybe not so good for a racer there might be some drag?

It was such a nice day today that I had to go back down and ride along the National Seashore. It's such a great place to ride. I never get tired of the views down here. The best part is that there is hardly any traffic on weekdays. Even during Spring Break!

Surf fishing, they catch a lot of Pompano down here. The boat is cruising the shoreline looking for Cobia, they're due any day now.

Nobody in front of me.

No one behind me.

Just above me!

It was a day worth saving.

Clever Scam - taking advantage of older men

Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. This will only become more commonplace down here in Florida this winter.

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Lowe's, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise.

NEW INVENTION FROM APPLE -

Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speaker size.

This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

Quickie in the Bushes

There are two statues in a park; one of a nude man and one of a

nude woman.. They had been facing each other across a pathway for a

hundred years, when one day an angel comes down from the sky and, with a

single gesture, brings the two to life.

The angel tells them, 'As a reward for being so patient through a

hundred blazing summers and dismal winters, you have been given life for

thirty minutes to do what you've wished to do the most.'

The route is somewhere between 85 and 90 miles, so I can't exactly call it a Century, but it will be by far the longest one-day ride this fat old fart has ever attempted. I plan on leaving the little town of Prosperity around 6:00 in the morning on Saturday 10/17 (or 10/24 if it rains on the 17th) and poking my way around the lake, taking many rests (and pictures) along the journey. Between now and then, I welcome any ...

FINALLY MET MY GOAL FOR THE YEAR

It was a little cooler than I like to ride today, but I finally reached 2000 miles for the year. I dont think that is too bad for a 71 year old. My RANS Stratus was flawless, and I only had one goathead flat. I caught the goathead before a ride when checking the bike over. Flats at home are a lot nicer than on the road.

So-------how many miles have the rest of you here logged this year?

BTW I met 3 trikes and 2 other bents on the trails today, most ever.
