PostSubject: Birthday ride   Fri Feb 20, 2009 4:52 pm

I know this is really early, but, does anyone know when the Long Leaf Trace Birthday ride is this year? Is it always on the same day ie: "Birthday"? I want to try to plan out some vacation time and want to make sure to go to the Claxton "Cruisin' in the Country" ride and the "Birthday Ride" on the LLT. There is nothing on the Trace's website.

Thanks,

Walt

Age in kilometers? That hardly seems a challenge for the experienced cyclist. Next November, I'd only have to ride 30 miles. I do that every Sunday.

But, I suppose for your average couch 'tater, or beginning cyclist, that's a pretty good place to start. I like the idea in that regard.

Yes, that was it. I wasn't sure of the date/dates. I missed it last year but I've seen the pictures of both the Schlitter brothers in attendance. I want to make sure I get there this year but I also want to make sure to get to Claxton also.

Mark, listen here young whippersnapper...Laughing Laughing ....sorry Embarassed You're right, it is a good place to start and whatever it takes to get somebody on a bike works for me. Also, it brings a lot of different people out in support of an outdoor activity. I'm hardly ever surprised any more when someone expresses surprise after they ask me how far I rode on any given Saturday and I say 50-60 miles. What for us is nothing but a leisurely ride is for some an unbelievable accomplishment.

I don't think that the English to metric conversion applies with years. I think years=years here. You'll have to step up to the plate for this one.
