I'm interested in helmet/bar mounted cameras. I know this has been discussed as nauseum on other forums, but I'm interested in hearing your personal experience. I've been researching the possibility of doing a homebrew camera setup, but it seems like one of the low-end one piece jobs are much cheaper. What I haven't figured out is if there's a nickle's worth of difference. The video Admin posted seemed to be of excellent quality; I'd be interested in hearing about the equipment used for that shoot.

Thanks!

Mark

First off I wouldn't mount a camera on the handle bars of a bike if you value the camera. If you watch the video's that I post you should notice that they are shot By Bob Emmerich. NOT I Exclamation He does all the video work on CFRR and for the Crab Rides and more and I mite add does a superior job. (He's the Best) The last I knew he was using a Canon Power Shot A750 IS hand held camera. His camera is not mounted to anything other than his hand and he shoots while riding his bike. He also uses some type of editing program to produce his videos. If you would like a challenge, look at the withlacoochee ride and find the ANT. Smile

I knew it was not you shooting.

I saw the ant the first time I watched it. It was in the shot where the camera was on the trail. I watched it crawl right across in front of the camera.

Regular digital camera, huh? Hmmm.

I don't know how sophisticated it is, but my computer has windows movie maker on it. I was just going to use that.

I had no intention of mounting a point and shoot digital on the handlebar. I was thinking more along the lines of this, or this, or even one of these. I even researched how some guys homebrew a setup with a bullet cam and a regular flash memory video camera.

I love the idea of homebrewing something, but the pricepoint of the ready-made, waterproof unit is pretty tough to beat.
