| I know that many of you avoid regular cycling wear and while I respect that position, I happen to be one that prefers it. Every year at the Redlands Classic, Kucharik clothing has a booth. I remember during my brief trip back to the dark side (DF bikes), they had recumbent jerseys in their booth. Since going back to recumbents, I have asked every year and they always offered some excuse or other why they didn't bring recumbent stuff. This year was different; they finally brought some recumbent stuff and while my Cruzbike works OK with regular cycling jerseys, I felt obliged to buy and try a recumbent jersey. During my initial trial with the jersey, I was reasonably happy with the pockets on the front. Things were handy to get to, the pockets were of reasonable size and depth to hold a jacket, arm warmers and a few snacks. As a person that has worked hard to lose weight, it was a little disconcerting to look down and see these bulges around my midsection, but there was a purpose. I did notice that as the day heated up, I could tell that my belly was getting warm spots where the stuff was. No worse than on your back, I suppose, just different, so I noticed it more. Overall, I was pleased with the jersey and will use it pretty regular. Here's the LINK to their website if you're interested. Mark _________________ Bicycling is my drug of choice. I looked at the shorts and they didn't impress me much. I like their regular shorts, but those recumbents shorts didn't do anything for me. The jersey is cool, though!

I guess I'm outa touch or maybe just fat but I still like the baggy stuff.

I'm probably the one that's out of touch. I fancy myself a performance oriented rider and real or imagined, I believe the compression offered by cycling shorts is a real plus. I just don't feel the same when I jump on my bike for a quick trip downtown, or around the block with regular shorts on. Like I said, it could all be my imagination, but I believe it helps.
I also believe the space aliens will be coming back soon to reveal to us the meaning of life. We will learn that our entire civilization is nothing more than the science experiment of some ancient space lizard kid and he only got a C+, so we get dumped and the giant lizards that once lived here will be re-established. Of course, before we are destroyed by the aliens, we will learned it was them that built the pyramids, Stonehenge and gave us the technology to put the gooey stuff inside a Fig Newton cookie.

| I think any way you go with the front pocket, you're going to look like a chub. The Kucharik pocket is high enough, though, that it looks like a pocket, not a roll of blubber. Still... It's disconcerting to look down there and see that. My roadie friend really liked the jersey. He thought he might like one for keeping snacks and stuff handy as you ride. +1 on the brain still being wired in roadie mode. I only hope when we get flushed down the galactic toilet, it doesn't hurt much. Mark _________________ Bicycling is my drug of choice. Followed closely by beer.

I don't care a whole lot about the mysteries of the pyramids or stonehenge, but if they truly were responsible for the Fig Newton they are forever in my debt.

| One of the things that bothers me about genuine cycling shorts, and I will freely admit it is a psychological barrier, is the fact that to wear them properly you have to go Commando. I hate going Commando, it brings back memories of a previous life which I'd just as soon not dredge up. _________________ BluesCat -----> 2008 Sun EZ Sport CX - "Bluetiful", 2001 Giant Yukon SE - "The Roadley", 1986 Batavus Course - "DutchGrl"---------0 ---------\__^o\ ------(*)`"''"""(*) |
