I commute most of the time. I sometimes wimp out when it gets too cold though.

I live out in the sticks 20+ miles from work.

At some point I would be killed by the crazy drivers. They even tend to take each other out in auto on auto crashes.

Weather in Illinois would limit commuting from April to September in my book.

Yeah, I am SO spoiled living in Phoenix and being only about 7.5 to 8 miles from work (depending upon which pleasant multi-use path I want to take), I should be ashamed of myself for not biking more in every season but the Summer.

I would surely like to, but 10 miles on SR349 would be deadly.

I have used a bike to commute for many years also in the winter. Earlier I had one winter bike with winter tires which was only used in winter. Now I use my Sofrider in the winter I change tires so now it will be good to put the summer tires back on soon! So now I use my Sofrider year round. The weather is getting warmer all the roads are now cleared and we have had day temperatures up to 10°C. It’s good to get a daily exercise and it helps me keep up with other riders.

I Live in Los Angeles, and ride whenever my job permits. In the free lance world you don't always work in the same location, and some locations are just too far to ride. If the job is within 20 miles its rideable.

Also I wont ride if it rains out here. Thats a death wish. Although last week I got rained on half way to work all I could do was laugh, and pucker up on the down hill. Lol.

Yesterday I felt fear for the first time ridding to work. a big moving truck was scared to pass me, on a downhill right hand bend. he ended up passing me and cutting me off!!

I am blessed for the moment by a downtown job, and it coincides with fair weather in Milwaukee. Very nice for commuting. I had to wait this Spring for it to be light enough to safely commute at 6:00 am - that was not March. But it is almost full time now.

Unless it is wet.

Or I have job errands to run.

I think I am averaging 3 days a week on the bike. I like that.

Cheers! ADC

I almost always work 12 to 14 hour days. So I ride at night often. Riding in the dark has its advantages. like no glare from the sun, cooler, and less traffic. I always arrive home refreshed and relaxed.

Keep on riding
