Can anyone suggest a chainlube that doesn’t drip and leave stains my garage floor. The stuff I’m currently using makes a real mess! Also, any ideas about how to remove these oily stains?

I’ll try Prolink and see how I get on. The stuff I currently have is a spray-on motorcycle chain lube. According to the can it has “anti-fling” properties, but it gets everywhere and is so sticky that’s its almost impossible to remove ~ A bad buy I’m afraid!

Good old-fashioned ground-clay Kitty Litter soaks up oil pretty well. Sprinkle it on, let it sit, sweep it up.

I was reading in an automotive magazine that they use oven cleaner to degrease their garage. Spray it on, let it sit and hose it off. I haven't tried this so YMMV.

I use White Lightning Clean Ride. Its a Parafin based lube, and doesn't make such a mess. Their Elite lube is good even on the Oregon Coast, where you get a lot of rain and salt.

Please, it's a garage, it should have some stins on the floor.

I've got a garage full of different kinds of chain lubes. I'm not buying any more until I use all this crap up! I don't think it matters too much, to tell the truth. Plus, if you're putting so much on your chain that it's dripping, you're using way too much. You should lube each link and plate, spin the pedals for a few minutes to allow it to work in, then wipe off the excess.

When I have oil, or grease stains spray some simple green ( or similar product found at auto parts store) let it soak for five minutes the kitty litter or saw dust.

This method has worked great for me. I use to work as a mechanic, and a clean freak!
