Just curious - anyone ever had any dealings with the ActionBent co. out of Washington State? I've seen a lot of his stuff on eBay and visited his online store. He deals in Taiwanese stuff, which looks half-decent if one's expectations are properly set, and his prices are definitely attractive. Might be worth a look if anyone is researching entry-level rides? Question

I haven't had any experience personally, but thought for awhile about getting one to use as a commuter. They have decent level componentry and seem to have a loyal following. There is a action bent user group on Yahoo groups for the devotees. Speaking of which, I should pop over there and offer them the invite to this forum!

If you pop over to the AB group and invite to the forum I'll set up a group section along with the other and they can also set up a group chat as long as the have a group moderator. Let me know how you do.

I posted it over there. We'll see if we get any response.

I've never had any dealings with AB. I have heard some Horror stories about there bikes but I think that has to do with the fact that they are a bike you have to be mechanically incline to have because they're more or less a kit you have to put together right out of the box and to many people are not inclined ( just think they are ) I suppose they would be a decent introduction to recumbent biking. Prices are good.

That's been my impression, to, Admin. You have to know basic bicycle assembly, to start, which means you also need to know how to fine-tune your shifting and braking. Not that it's hard, but people tend to think it's voo-doo science, or something. Only wheels and wheel-building involve Voo-Doo.

What I've read, though, is they are a tinkerer's delight. Lots of mods you can do.

That's basically it, and so many people don't have a clue and then you end up with the horror stories.
Do you have anything to do with the RANSbike group or Brol. I added AB to the list.

I post on BROL sometimes, but I'm not real active. I used to be, years ago. There are some people on BROL I'd just as soon didn't come over here.

So it seems like the general consensus so far is a moderate thumbs-up?
