They voted down one amendment and withdrew a second one which would have eliminated bicycle infrastructure funding/improvements from the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) program as "unnecessary and burdensome ... highway beautification" enhancements.

These amendments were proposed by Republican Senators Coburn of OK and McCain of AZ, the same two clowns who wrote a manifesto called Out of Gas which, in essence, called bicycles unimportant to our transportation system.

Maybe the printing presses are heating up so bad they have to find some way to slow down the printing?
