My number came up, 327 in the first lottery. I tried to quit college, but my father stepped up to the plate and said that he would foot the rest of the bill. Very Happy He had a big smile on his face when I got the piece of paper that said I was granted a license to teach school.

I saw Jesus Christ Superstar. Does that count? Laughing

Only if you saw in more than once and have a personal DVD. Very Happy

I found out what the cartoon Fredwina posted was all about. The governor of Colorado signed a bill requiring motorists to give cyclists three feet of room when passing. I understand there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth by the os-so-careful motoring public. Rolling Eyes

They passed a similar law in Florida, I think, but still if you ride on the streets it makes for a stressful ride. Sidewalks bounce me silly and makes my phat giggle. I have no suspension on the cruzbike, only rock hard tires. I took my Giant out today and after 35+ miles I started to remember why I started looking towards the bent. Got to heal up for a bit before I am allowed to go back out and do more damage to the body in search of wedgies.

I don't think anybody pretends to think that law can be enforced. However, if a motorist hits a cyclist on the road, it pretty much eliminates any and all excuses you may offer. Even if you get off the manslaughter charge, you can't beat this one because obviously, you didn't give three feet. It doesn't heal wounds and it won't bring back the dead, but it's a little better than the slap on the wrist that frequently occurs.

Well during the 60's and the 70's I kept my crew cut, worked hard in the computer industry and started my family. In fact I viewed the "hippies" as brain damaged. Golly I missed out on the whole drug scene and probably vd. It was a time that those people thot the whole world owed them a living.

Arizona has a 3-foot law also. I do not know if it is very effective.

I had several friends who graduated high school with me in '68, did not go to college but directly into the military service. One of them was killed in action; one stepped on a Bouncing Betty and lost his left leg below the knee and his left arm at the elbow; two came back with substance abuse problems as a result of their "Vietnam Experience"; one finished his military service in Germany, married a girl there and stayed there; one made a career of the military after Vietnam, he died a few years ago of cancer he always suspected was caused by Agent Orange.

I dropped out of college after one year, was reclassified 1A from 1S, and I waited. I was 340 in the first lottery.

I went to work for a big Architectural/Engineering firm in 1970, who designed and construction managed various facilities for the military, including secure hospitals for the Air Force. I wore my hair down to the middle of my back, and when I would go onto a military base I would always get grief from the MP's and sometimes from some of the other personnel there. However, no one ever took me up on my invitation to step OFF the base, lose the uniform, and discuss whether "I was a girl or a boy."

Yup, I smoked dope. Had a good time doing it, but around 1975 I "became a man" and "put away childish things." Went back to school and have worked ever since.

One great thing about living out in the center of the country, is the fact most of the crazies are far away. Sure Im probably a member of a dying breed, but my wife and I dont live much different than we did 50 years ago. Sure we have a few more toys like computers and flat screen TVs but our basic life style really hasnt changed that much

So please--------if you are really weird, stay in Calif or the east coast!!!!!!!!!!!!
